Bruneel & Armstrong’s relationship is a very interesting one and no-one really knows, with the exception of the technical & tactical aspects, how both individuals fell into an order of command & control. A spat over chocolate & the way Lance snatches it from the technician tells you more about Lance’s makeup than any interview/ PR event will ever do…possibly the greatest cyclist ever in terms of commitment/ attitude.

Endurance athletes drink soda for the caffeine. It increases your muscles glycogen capacity which reduces muscle repair time. Also the stimulus properties help during activity.

actually a lot of the pro cyclist drink pop… its honestly not that bad for you when you ride taht long. I know david millar was talking about what he does after a race and he likes to have refreshments and stuff and even a little bit of junk food to celebrate the day. Now Im sure he doesnt drink a lot of them everyday but i could easilly see 1 or even 2 some days. I used to train pretty hard on my bike and they wouldnt hurt me that bad though i usually drank them after my rides.

Cycling is probably the only sport besides running that requires massive amounts of sugar replacement. Thats why he drinks pop. Lance used to ride 700 miles a week training for the tour.

cyclists drink pop for the caffine boost. they can burn 6000-9000 calories throughout a very intense ride so a 120 calorie soda is the least of their worrys
